Join the ASHRAE Georgia Tech Student Branch for a guided tour of the Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design, the first Living Building Challenge certified building of its kind in the Southeast.

The Kendeda Building produces more energy than it uses and captures and treats its own water on site. During the tour we will walk through the systems that make that possible, including the rooftop solar canopy and net positive energy design, rainwater harvesting and on site water treatment, radiant heating and cooling paired with dedicated outdoor air systems, and the material and construction choices required for Living Building Challenge certification. This is a chance to see the HVAC, energy, and water concepts covered in class working together in a real occupied building.

Lunch will be provided, along with a short introduction to the ASHRAE Georgia Tech Student Branch and what we have planned for the rest of the semester, including the 2026 ASHRAE Region IV Student Summit hosted here at Georgia Tech in October.
