Join IASO and special guest Hon. John Tien for life lessons from his experiences in the field of International Affairs. Tien is a distinguished Professor of the Practice for the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs and the School of Cybersecurity and Privacy. Tien has served as deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), senior director for Afghanistan and Pakistan on the National Security Council (NSC), and more prestigious leadership positions in the United States government. He has been deeply involved in international and domestic policies within the United States, and has developed a career based off of his education from the United States Military Academy at West Point as a civil engineer, as well as from Oxford University, where he received his M.A. in philosophy, politics, and economics.
