Makar Sankranti is a harvest festival celebrated across India that marks the Sun’s movement into the zodiac sign Capricorn (Makara). It’s traditionally seen as the start of longer days and a shift into a more favorable season, and it’s celebrated as a time of gratitude, new beginnings, and community. Different regions celebrate in different ways, kite flying is especially popular in many parts of India, and Pongal is a well-known harvest celebration and dish associated with the season in South India.

To celebrate, we’ll serve Pongal to share a classic harvest-season tradition together. Come hang out, bring friends, and celebrate the season with food, creativity, and time together.
